We are all asked to practice non attachment because attachment eventually results in some sort of suffering. Never have I understood the purport of this word completely I feel, until today where I understood some more of it :-). Attachment is not only to things that we desire or to someone or something we really like but also to something we are trying to get rid of. The exact words were “It is only when we are trying to cling to something or to somebody or trying to get rid of someone or some condition that we are attached” Just to add here living each experience without trying to cling to it if it seems good or without trying to get rid of it if it seems evil would be life of non-attachment. These words are from Joel Goldsmith and I just leave them at that without my interpretations for whoever lands here for their understanding.
